Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to some of the most common questions will be updated here. If you need any further information, ask us here

Can I buy tickets on the day ?

'Saturday Daytime Only' tickets will be available on the day at an increased price of £15

Full Weekend tickets will be extremely limited on the day as we will have resevered a set number of catering and camping space allocations. Any that are available will be sold on a first come first serve basis at an increased price of £35.

You are strongly advised to book tickets in advance to avoid the risk of no further availibility on the day!

Tracktime will not be for sale on the day, and must be booked in advance.

If tracktime has all sold out, but you are still coming to the event anyway, you may be able to be waitlisted for any possible no-shows on the day.

What time should I arrive for the event ?

The site opens to those with Full Weekend tickets for optional pre-show camping on Friday 25th August from 5.30pm. Please do not arrive before this time as there will be strictly no earlier entry.

Please note: Gates will then close again at 10.00pm prompt by the site owners in order to secure the site. You must ensure you arrive by this time or you will be unable to get in until the gates open again in the morning.

You will be given your tickets, food vouchers, car sticker etc at the ticket checkpoint. Please stop and wait until a member of the event team admits you. Do not enter without having recieved your tickets, otherwise you will miss out on important parts of you ticket pack!

In the unlikely event of a queue, please DO NOT leave your car or approach the ticket booth on foot as this will delay your entry. Please stay in your car and allow our team to admit you in an orderly fashion.

Gates will open to all ticket holders at 8.00am on Saturday morning. Please try to avoid arriving before this time to limit queueing. Morning track session drivers should ensure they arrive in time to sign-on between 8.00am and 8.30am.

I've never driven on track before, what's the usual schedule of events ?

Once people have arrived and “signed on” at the circuit office and received their identification armbands, Javelin will give a quick but comprehensive briefing. It's here that everything will be explained, from sessions to safety and overtaking to tuition. It's at this point we ask for anyone who isn't quite sure as to how things work to speak up. We than ask that everyone gets ready and joins the rest of their session in the parking area. After the Javelin staff have carried out the final safety checks on the circuit... away you go! Your first 3 laps will be in convoy behind a Safety Car to acquaint you with the circuit in use on that event. We usually have a 1-hour break for lunch around 12.45pm where the morning session will end and sign-on and preparation for the afternoon session will begin. No driver will be allowed on track until they have attended a safety breifing.

Can I have Instruction ?

Although Javelin Trackdays Ltd is not a training organisation, and trackdays are certainly not about learning to be a racing driver, Instructors are available to give you informal guidance into track driving technique, and how it varies from road driving. That said your road driving can benefit a great deal from the skills discovered in your trackday experience.

The aim is ultimately to improve how safely and smoothly you drive your car around a track and that will inevitably help with awareness and control on the road.

Ultimately it's only going to be you with feet on the pedals, and any accidents at trackdays (thankfully rare) are always the fault of the driver and the driver alone. Instructors cannot stop you from having an accident but they can make you think twice about driving beyond your limits. We HIGHLY recommend all beginners make use of them. Advice can be booked when you sign into any event.

Are passengers allowed on track ?

Yes, passengers over the age of 16 are welcome. If under 18 their guardian will be required to sign a Declaration and Indemnity. A general rule is that only the front seats are allowed to be occupied. However each passenger must have the exclusive use of a seat belt. An additional charge £5 per passenger is levied at signing on.

Signed on passengers and drivers may passenger in other cars at no extra charge. We ask that all passengers wait until drivers are signed on before signing on themselves.

Do I have to camp on both nights with a Weekend ticket?

While you do require a full weekend ticket to stay on and enjoy the Saturday evening entertainment and food, camping is of course not mandatory on either day. You will be able to leave site later in the evening to return home or to a local hotel if you prefer.

Please note however that for security reasons, gates will be locked and movement on and off the site may be strictly controlled after 10 pm.

What is the noise limit for the track ?

The noise limits are 105 dba Static and 95 dba Driveby

The static test is measured at 3/4 throttle at 0.5 metres from the tailpipe. These limits are usually the same limit as imposed on most road based race / rally competition cars and should therefore not be hard to achieve. Javelin may not test every car as they feel experienced enough to selectively test the noisier cars. Javelin will carry out a free noise test for you at any of their events if you are at all unsure.

Please read this article for information on how the noise tests are performed

What should I wear on track ?

A general rule of thumb is that in the interest of safety your body, arms and legs are covered and you wear a suitable helmet. Javelin insists that drivers and passengers wear suitable and well fitting helmets at all times on the track. Occupants of cars that do not have full windscreens should wear full face helmets or suitable eye protection.

Can I hire a helmet ?

Helmet hire is provided by Javelin Trackdays on the day at a cost of £10. Please ask at signing on if you would like to hire one. Helmets may be limited and subject to availability, so in case of high demand, we would advise bringing your own where possible.

If I damage my car in an accident, who will pay ?

Although trackday accidents are rare, if you decide to take your car on to a track, you must be aware that you are accepting the risk. By booking to take part you have already agreed to this. You will also be required to sign a further declaration at each event. This is usual on any trackday.

The owners of venue, Javelin Trackdays Ltd, ClioSport Limited or any other person or company cannot be held responsible, even if an accident is not your fault. It is becoming increasingly unlikely that your road going policy is going to cover you for a trackday so make sure you check with your insurance company first. Make sure you mention that these events are non-competitive and no racing or timing is allowed. There are numerous providers of Trackday Insurance online, for an additional premium. We always recommend you take out a separate per event policy to be sure. It is recommended that you consider if you have adequate personal accident insurance in place before taking part.

What is the refund policy ?

Unfortunately track sessions are non-refundable and not transferrable (identification will be required when signing on on the day). If you are unable to use a track session you have purchased you cannot sell this on yourself to a third party.

Please contact a member of the ClioSport Admin Team who will add you to a refund waiting list. If track sessions are fully sold out before the day of the event, and there is still demand, we will consider buying back sessions from people on this list in the order they were added.

Event admission tickets are also not transferrable, and refundable only at the discretion of ClioSport.

Are children and dogs allowed ?

Children under the age of 16 years old will be admitted with a reduced price childs ticket with any accompanying adult. Proof of age may be requested on the gate. Children must remain accompanied by an adult at all times.

Dogs are not permitted to enter any part of the site and showground. Please do not bring them along or you will be asked to leave with no refund of any tickets purchased. This is for the safety of all attendees and the dogs themselves due to the nature of the circuit activities.
